The Kentish Road service has been set up for use by people with learning disabilities. It gives the service user a break from home, with staff available twenty-four hours a day.
It is a large house with bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge, a games room and a spacious garden. Each person has their own bedroom, with access to a television, a video player and a stereo.
There are lots of activities available, from meeting new people, to playing pool or football, going out for lunch and dinner, going to the cinema or theatre or even going for a drive in the country.
The service is available for anyone with a learning disability who is living at home with family or in our shared lives scheme as long as they aged between 18-64 years old and live within the Southampton city boundaries.
To apply for this service please contact us as we will first need to arrange an assessment.
There is no fixed charge to stay at the Kentish Road facility but you will need to fill out a financial assessment form. The amount you need to pay is worked out for you by people at the facility. You will need to pay the costs for trips, outings, entrance fees and meals eaten away from the facility.
