Tackling Social Exclusion

City Limits is part of a project funded by the EU’s Interreg 4A 2 Seas programme aimed at tackling social exclusion by testing and improving services.

The project partners - Southampton City Council, Stad Gent in Belgium, and Daad Werkt in Rotterdam, Netherlands will all be trying out new and developed services based upon experiences in the other cities.
As a focus, City Limits will be looking at the employment services it provides for people with learning disabilities, and seeing how they can be improved. In particular, City Limits will work on improving peoples’ access to the labour market by joining up employment services, training and work experience. One particular area of focus is a working kitchen which provides training and a step towards open, paid work in the catering industry.
