Calculate your Benefits using Benefit Adviser
You can calculate your Housing and Council Tax benefit entitlement and find out about other welfare benefits by following this link:Benefits Adviser at Directgov.
The link will take you to the Directgov website, once there, you will need to scroll down the page to begin using the Benefits Adviser. This will calculate whether you are eligible for Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit, and the amount you could receive.
Remember that the final calculation given will be based on the information you supply and should only be treated as a rough guide of entitlement to Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit.
For a full evaluation of possible benefit entitlement, please print out and complete the HB1 Housing and Council Tax Benefit form by following this link http://www.southampton.gov.uk/living/benefits/housingbenefit/hbforms.aspx.
The completed form should be handed in at any Local Housing Office, Registered Social Landlord (Housing Association), or the Gateway Office, One Guildhall Square, Southampton.
Any benefit entitlement will (generally) start from the Monday following receipt of your completed claim form. It is therefore important to return the claim form as soon as possible.
