Freemantle Community Centre is now open again after a complete refurbishment. The centre which has received grants from the Learning and Skills Council and Southampton City Council now provides the local community with state of the art facilities including a multi-sensory room, stage and cafe. They have several rooms and halls which can be hired by the hour for groups, meetings and parties. For more information please contact them directly on the above number.
Volunteer at Freemantle community centre
The centre is run by local volunteers who are responsible for the day to day running of the community centre and are always happy to hear from potential new volunteers. Are you interested in your local community and helping run a community meeting place? Anyone living in the area who would like to help is welcome to join. All types of skills are needed; secretaries, treasurers and lettings officers etc. If you don’t want a specific role don’t worry. All centres want community minded, enthusiastic people to help whatever their level of involvement. Most volunteers find it only takes a couple of hours a month.
