Kingsland community centre can be hired by community groups and private users for one off or regular activities. The building is over 100 years old but has been completely refurbished inside. Currently the centre is home to many groups and classes including several martial arts classes and some rather more sedate groups such as a coffee morning and a church group. The Polish, Indian, Russian, West Indian and Somali communities all use the centre regularly making it the true centre of the neighbourhood.

Volunteer at Kingsland community centre

The centre is run by local volunteers who are responsible for the day to day running of the community centre and are always happy to hear from potential new volunteers. Are you interested in your local community and helping run a community meeting place? Anyone living in the area who would like to help is welcome to join. All types of skills are needed; secretaries, treasurers and lettings officers etc. If you don’t want a specific role don’t worry. All centres want community minded, enthusiastic people to help whatever their level of involvement. Most volunteers find it only takes a couple of hours a month.
