Lordshill Community Centre is owned by the Council but run by a Community Association made up of local volunteers. There are two halls for hire; one is smaller with tea and coffee making facilities, the other is larger with use of a kitchen. There is also a meeting room available to hire. Both community groups looking for a new home and private users can hire the facilities. Currently the centre is home to several groups including a karate class, a Brownies troop and street dance.
Volunteer at Lordshill community centre
The centre is run by local volunteers who are responsible for the day to day running of the community centre and are always happy to hear from potential new volunteers. Are you interested in your local community and helping run a community meeting place? Anyone living in the area who would like to help is welcome to join. All types of skills are needed; secretaries, treasurers and lettings officers etc. If you don’t want a specific role don’t worry. All centres want community minded, enthusiastic people to help whatever their level of involvement. Most volunteers find it only takes a couple of hours a month.
