Northam community centre is a converted school which sits on the site of the old Northam School. It is a busy centre that shares the facilities with StartPoint Northam and Northam 521, a youth project.

The centre has several halls and meeting rooms; all are spacious, light and have tea making facilities. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, several groups use it for cooking classes.

Volunteer at Northam community centre

The centre is run by local volunteers who are responsible for the day to day running of the community centre and are always happy to hear from potential new volunteers. Are you interested in your local community and helping run a community meeting place? Anyone living in the area who would like to help is welcome to join. All types of skills are needed; secretaries, treasurers and lettings officers etc. If you don’t want a specific role don’t worry. All centres want community minded, enthusiastic people to help whatever their level of involvement. Most volunteers find it only takes a couple of hours a month.
