Sholing community centre has a good sized hall with plenty of natural light. A stage provides a space which can be used for small performances. The kitchen has adequate space for food preparation and cooking. Tea and coffee making facilities are also available. To the front of the centre is an enclosed garden and to the rear a car park. All facilities in the centre are accessible for people with disabilities.
Several regular groups use the centre including a dance group, tae kwondo and the army cadets. There is space available if you run a group that needs a new home. The hall can be hired out at the weekends for children's parties and receptions.
Volunteer at Sholing community centre
The centre is run by local volunteers who are responsible for the day to day running of the community centre and are always happy to hear from potential new volunteers. Are you interested in your local community and helping run a community meeting place? Anyone living in the area who would like to help is welcome to join. All types of skills are needed; secretaries, treasurers and lettings officers etc. If you don’t want a specific role don’t worry. All centres want community minded, enthusiastic people to help whatever their level of involvement. Most volunteers find it only takes a couple of hours a month.
