For a map of community and voluntary groups, projects and facilities see the Southampton Placebook website. Southampton Placebook was initiated by the Communities and Improvement Team and is now lead by Stepacross, a social enterprise. As a community interest company, Stepacross works with the community to develop and shape its future.
Southampton Placebook maps information about residents or tenants associations, community centres, women's groups, neighbourhood watches, social enterprises, youth groups etc, in fact any group that gives to the community. If you are a neighbourhood group or want to start a local group or activity in your area contact Southampton Placebook, via the bottom of the page, to get access to the map so that you can upload your group's details directly.
The Communities and Improvement Team supports various community groups across the City, either by helping groups set up, offering advice on creating a Constitution and adopting appropriate policies, assisting groups in applying for funding or simply signposting to other departments within the Council and agencies in the City to enable them to further the groups aims and objectives.
