Community safety

This section of the site tells you about what the council is doing to make the place you live safer. You can also find information about dealing with anti social behaviour.

Here you will find links to the various services that the council provides to make sure that your city and your community is safe to live in. There are links to other sites that tell you how you can help make your community a better place to live, including links to the fire and rescue and police services in the local area.

We believe that keeping communities safe involves more than just preventing crime and disorder; we must also stimulate social and economic change.

In these pages you will see information on neighbourhood watch programmes, crime reduction environment weeks (CREW), city patrol together with details of ‘Tackling Drugs’ here in Southampton.

We also work with parents of children who commit anti social behaviour and champion the campaign for ‘Respect in your areas’.
