Grants and funding

There are many voluntary and community groups doing valuable work in the city. Finding money to support your project can be a challenge. There are many grant schemes, awards and funding bodies in the UK and across the European Union. These web pages are here to help you find your way through them.

You’ll find a whole range of useful information about grants from the council and advice on where else you could look for funding.

Last year the council awarded over £2 million in grants to community and voluntary groups.

The council recognises the value and contribution that these groups make to the city. We are committed to supporting these groups; enabling them to flourish and reach their full potential in helping the community. There are three grants schemes available.
