Funding bulletins

There are two funding bulletins produced within the council. The Regeneration team publish 'Funding Forecast' approximately every 6 weeks, detailing the funding opportunities relevant to the work of the Regeneration team, the voluntary sector and Southampton Skills Development Zone partners.

The Communities Team produce a newsletter aimed at smaller community groups who may be looking for funding outside of the council.

Latest editions of both bulletins can be found at the bottom of this page.

Funding Forecast

Funding Forecast is an information resource and planning tool, which primarily supports the work of the Funding & Development Forum and regularly headlines key European and UK funding news and opportunities relating to worklessness, poverty, social exclusion, skills/training and apprenticeships. Funding Forecast also highlights opportunities relevant to the work of the Economic Development Directorate, Southampton Skills Development Zone partners and voluntary sector organisations.

The bulletin is published approximately every 6 weeks. For further information about Funding Forecast, please contact the External Funding Unit in the Regeneration team.

Community funding newsletter for small groups

This is a monthly newsletter with funding information from outside the council aimed mainly at small, volunteer-led community groups. The funding opportunities listed here are usually for small grants. It also has top tips and funding success stories.

The newsletter is split into 2 sections:

  • Funding with deadlines in the next calendar month

  • On-going funding with no fixed deadlines

The latest newsletters can be found at the bottom of this page.

Most funders ask applicants to show how they know there is a need for their project. To help with this we have produced a list of websites where you can find statistical information about Southampton.

The council has also produced a guide to applying for and managing your funding, which is available on our community resources page - How to guides
