Grants from the council

This year the council has awarded over £1.9 million in grants to community and voluntary groups.

The council recognises the value and contribution that these groups make to the city. We are committed to supporting these groups; enabling them to flourish and reach their full potential in helping the community. The council has several grant schemes. For more information on each grant please click on the link.

  • Local Improvements Grant

  • Community Chest

  • Transition Grants

  • A list of grants awarded for 2012/13 can be found at the bottom of this page.

  • Unallocated grants budget - for 2012/13 the council has a small amount of grants money not currently allocated that will be made available as grants to voluntary organisations for crisis funding, exceptional projects or any ad hoc grant applications received during the year that meet the council’s funding priorities. Details of how to apply for this grant funding will be available on this website in early April 2012. Voluntary and community organisations who are interested in applying for this funding can request to be notified as soon as the information is available by contacting the Communities team.

  • Running Costs Fund and New Projects Fund - these grant schemes have been temporarily suspended for 2012/13 while the council consults and reviews its grants process. Please see our consultation page for more information.
