Fuel tariff help

Fuel-tariffs helpTo make sure vulnerable customers get all the help they are entitled to, from their energy supplier, they could call the Home Heat helpline on 0800 33 66 99. All energy suppliers must operate a “Priority services register” which means that the more vulnerable among us can get agreed passwords so customers can be extra sure of visitors or callers from the energy company, and additional protection against being disconnected, and possibly provision of temporary heating in an emergency.
You can also contact your energy company direct, and ask them about it, and if you are paying over 10% of your income on keeping warm, you can ask if they have a “fuel poverty tariff” which may provide a discount on your energy bills. Not all energy companies do this at present, as it is not a legal requirement.
