Housing option interview

If you are threatened with homelessness you might be subject to a statutory duty in terms of the 1996 Housing Act Part 7. Your housing advisor will assist with making a homelessness application. Please note that not all customers are eligible for assistance in terms of the Homelessness Legislation. In a situation where no homeless duty is owed, advice will be given in relation to alternative Housing options.

Emergency accommodation
If you are unable to return to your accommodation on the night, we will help you find alternative emergency accommodation, such as a refuge or friends or family. If no accommodation is available, we may have to refer you to Bed and Breakfast or emergency accommodation. (Please note that these days we only use B & B in situations where there is no alternative accommodation available.)

If we are unable to assist you, wherever possible, we will sign post you to an organisation that may be able to help.
