Keeping your home warm in winter can be expensive, and every year many people end up getting ill simply because their home is cold or damp.
There’s no need to suffer from the cold at home this winter - help is at hand! The city council is working together with organisations in Southampton to provide advice, information and practical help to keep the city warm and cosy.
The Stop team is here to:
• offer essential advice and information on keeping warm and well
• assess your eligibility and refer you for home energy efficiency grants and other types of financial help
• give you a free Winter Warmth Pack helping you keep warm during the cold snaps*
• visit you in your home to help you find out simple ways of keeping the temperature up and your heating bills down*
• arrange for a Handyperson to make essential repairs and improvements to your home*
• help you if there’s an emergency – from clearing snow to lending you a portable heater*
* conditions may apply.
