Council tenants can contact Gateway at One Guildhall Square (opposite Southampton Guildhall), for general enquiries or their local housing office. Here you will find advice on setting up a tenants' association and learn about supported tenancies enabling people to live independently in the community. There is news on our low-cost home contents insurance scheme as well as the right to buy and Low Cost Home Ownership (LCHO) for tenants who wish to buy.

How do I report a repair to my council property? You can report repairs online or find out more information about repairs. We also have details about the Handy Person Service which is a free or low cost service to carry our minor repairs for certain residents over 60.

Paying your council rent

The prompt and regular payment of your rent is your responsibility. We have a variety of methods to pay. If you fall into arrears do not ignore the problem get in touch with us straight away, we are here to help you.

The Tenants Handbook

You should have received a copy of your Tenants Handbook when you moved into your property however, we have placed a copy online. You will also find information on your Tenancy Agreement, change of tenancy name, repairs and much more.

Anti Social Behaviour on Estates

If you want to report an incident of anti social behaviour, maybe littering or graffiti, then report it here.

Special Decorating Scheme

Did you know that, subject to conditions, you may be entitled to have two rooms decorated for you absolutely FREE under the council's Special Decorating scheme?

Housing Adaptations

If you have a disability or long term illness we may be able to provide you with special equipment or adapt your home to help you live as independently as possible.

Housing Benefits, Welfare and Debt Advice

Do you need help in dealing with debt? Do you need advice or guidance through the benefits maze? We have a housing benefit calculator that can calculate whether you are eligible for Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit, and the amount you could receive, based upon the information you supply.

The Digital Switchover

We have a project underway to update the communal television system that serves majority of council blocks across the city.

Housing Services Report 2011

A copy of your annual Housing service report is available for you to download at the bottom of this page. It will tell you some of the things we have been up to in the last year, how well we are performing and some things we want to do better in the year ahead.
