Getting involved in council services can enable you to have a positive influence on the way these services are delivered to you.
Tenant involvement is good news for us because by talking to more tenants, it gives us a better chance of improving our services to you. It can help solve local problems and help bring communities together.
Tenants and leaseholders should be able to help choose the way that their homes are provided and managed. To make sure this happens we want to work with tenants, leaseholders, future tenants and other residents to design, monitor and review services. By doing this we will:
• Make sure that tenants have a say in the services we deliver
• Give tenants and residents the power to shape their services in line with our policies
• Make sure individual tenants and tenant groups are involved in decisions about housing management
• Give information and support to tenant groups who are interested in ‘Right to manage’ options
• Develop tenant involvement and make it clear what their role is in other community projects
We are responsible for making sure tenants are involved in housing matters. We provide advice and help to tenants wishing to set up tenants' groups. We also give information on other ways tenants can have a say in our Housing Services.
