Neighbourhood Watch group montage

Neighbourhood Watch (NW) is one of the biggest and most successful crime prevention schemes ever. By joining or starting a group you can work with the police and your neighbours to combat and reduce crime in your community and make your neighbourhood a safer and better place to live, work and play.

NW is growing in popularity. Since 2007 the number of neighbourhood watches in Southampton has increased by 30%. Why not join the 2,000 households in the city who have who have already joined or started a NW scheme?

Benefits of Neighbourhood Watch:

  • Reduced crime and disorder

  • Improved community spirit

  • Improved home security

  • You may be eligible for a discount on your home insurance.

No matter how small your neighbourhood - you can set up a NW Scheme.

To find out more:

  • Enquire Online by following the link on the right side of this page,

  • Download an information pack and application form (see link below),

  • Contact a Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator using the Safer Communities contact details below, or

  • Contact your Police Safer Neighbourhood Team on 0845 045 4545.

We will help you contact your neighbours to see if they are supportive of a scheme. We'll also support you to set up a meeting inviting all of the households in the area and a representative from the police. All you then need to do is nominate yourself or select someone else to act as the coordinator.

It’s as easy as that!
