Southampton Adoption Services is here to offer advice and support for anyone who wishes to become an adoptive parent or who has been affected by adoption in any way.

We were rated "Good" by Ofsted during our last inspection in August 2011. A copy of the inspection report can be downloaded from the Ofsted website.

Our web pages are split into the following sections:

• I am an adoptive parent

This section of our site provides information on the services we offer to adoptive parents, including our Adoption Support Services, and the Adoption Information Exchange.

• I want my child to be adopted

This page explains what adoption is and how we can support you.

• I want to adopt

This section provides information on how to become an adoptive parent, including the criteria you must meet. There is also information on the sorts of children who need adopting in Southampton, adopting a child from abroad, and how step-parents can adopt their step-children.

• I was adopted

This page provides information for those who were adopted through Southampton Adoption Service, and how we can support you.

• My child/relative was adopted

This page explains how relatives can get in touch with children who have been adopted.
