Could a Smartcities card save you money?
Smartcities is a multifunctional card which will allow you to access a number of different services and products with just one card. It can be your bus pass, donor card, library card, leisure card or your ID card.
If your child is in receipt of Disability Learning Allowance (DLA), or you can provide a letter from the Southampton City Council's Day Services/Learning Disabilities Team/Jigsaw confirming that he/she has a Learning Disability or is registered with the Sensory Services team as being profoundly/severely deaf, without speech, blind or partially sighted then it is likely they are eligible for a free bus pass.
Don't forget, even if you usually get your child around in a car, a bus pass can also have a companion element assigned to it (only for children on high mobility or high care DLA) and can then be used by carers (who travel free) to take the child to an activity or as a fun ride around the city for children that enjoy a bus ride.
For more information please call Katherine Kerr on 023 8083 2069 / 0800 169 8833. If you need help filling out the form then please ask. If you'd like to read more about Smartcities please see www.smartcities.co.uk
