The service is open as follows:

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays24 hours

The Emergency Duty Team follows national requirements set down for Social Services, and they carry out:

  • child protection investigations

  • children in need assessments

  • appropriate adults for juveniles.

The main purpose of the service is to respond to urgent problems arising out of office hours.

The Emergency Duty Team assesses the need of each potential user based on their individual requirements and where appropriate, takes action to prevent them from any suffering. This will always be in consultation with the person in need or their representative.
