Our House residential unit

Our House is a therapeutic residential unit for children aged between 8 and 12 years who have experienced chronic early childhood trauma.

Aims of Our House

Our House aims to provide high quality, flexible, medium to long-term, treatment based, group living experiences for Southampton children for whom a planned episode of therapy based care has been identified as the most positive path to take.

Eyes of a childWorking alongside the children, an agreed model of intervention is used to support their recovery from earlier experiences of trauma so they are able to return either to their families or foster placements.

Our House staff members and other specialist therapeutic resources work closely with a small group of foster carers, gradually linking them when the time is right in the child’s recovery, to individual children who will eventually become their foster placements.
