All applications for bus pass renewals can be made in a Southampton Library, Local Housing Office or Gateway at One Guildhall Square (on the site of the old C&A building opposite the Guildhall). Bus pass renewal forms are available at these venues or can be printed from the form below. Relevant documents will be required with the renewal form.
Senior Citizens
Please complete a bus pass renewal form and take it to one of the above venues. You will need to take with you proof of your address if it has changed since your last card was issued. You can take a new photograph if you would like to have this changed. A new bus pass will then be posted to you within 7 working days.
Residents who are registered as blind/severely sight impaired
Please provide a registration card, which confirms that you are registered as blind/severely sight impaired. Please see the terms and conditions for more information.
Residents under pensionable age
To qualify for the English National Concessionary (ENC) bus pass you will need to provide one proof of qualification from the following:
• A registration card stating that the holder is partially sighted, profoundly or severely deaf or without speech.
• A letter from the Department for Works and Pensions which states that you are currently in receipt of the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance.
• A letter from Southampton Day Services or Southampton Learning Disabilities team stating that you have a Learning Disability.
• A recent letter from the DVLA stating that you have been refused a driving licence on medical grounds.
• A letter from the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency stating that you are in receipt of War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement.
• A completed 09MQ form signed and stamped by a medical practitioner, confirming your eligibility (available from Gateway in the Civic Centre, by telephoning 023 8083 3008 or can be printed from this page).
To qualify for the Local Southampton bus pass please provide a letter from the Department for Works and Pensions, which confirms that you are currently in receipt of the lower rate of the mobility component or any rate of the care component of Disability Living Allowance.
Please note that Local Southampton Bus Passes which do not contain a visible expiry date will not be accepted for free travel after 31st January 2012. If you are currently using one of these passes please reapply by taking one of the qualification documents listed above to a Southampton Library, Local Housing Office or Gateway at One Guildhall Square where bus pass renewal forms are available.
A photocopy of your qualification document will be taken and attached to your renewal form.
