The highlights from the May issue which relates to March data include:

  • In Southampton 5,723 residents are claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, which is 3.5% of the working age (16-64) population.

  • The wards with the highest claimant rates are Bitterne and Woolston.

  • 74 % of working age people in Southampton are economically active
