Support good causes

Shape Your City logo

Within the city there are some inspirational projects being delivered. You only have to pass St James park to see what can be achieved with some funding and a whole lot of community involvement. There are many national charities doing exciting work locally as well as local voluntary organisations delivering life changing services. Often they don’t need a huge commitment; it could be support for a one off project or a modest contribution of time and skills once a month.

Types of volunteering we can offer

1. Helping at your local community centre

CentreEmailHow you can help
Bitterne Manorcommunities@southampton.gov.uk

There are many things you can do to help and you can give as little or as much time as you like; an hour a day, a week, a month, or even once a year at a community event.

To give you some ideas here are some things you could help with; helping with hiring, promotion, cleaning, committee meetings, maintenance, fundraising, events, taking and sending out meeting notes, looking after the money, general running of the centre, encouraging new users and new committee members.

There are so many ways you can help, just ask for more information with no obligation.
