Landlord Controlled Heating Charges

Decision Maker: Officer Decision Making

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To consider the report of the Senior Finance Business Partner seeking to approve new charges for landlord controlled heating from 2 October 2017.

Decision:

(i)  To agree that charges to tenants for landlord controlled heating will not change as a result of this annual review.

(ii)  To agree that, for the residents of International Way, the unit charge of 5.4 pence will also remain unchanged.

Reasons for the decision:

The financial outturn for 2016/17 shows that the surplus on the heating account has increased from £682,000 to £803,000 during the financial year. However, the surplus at 31st March 2017 is £57,000 lower than forecast in August 2016 and the forecast for future price inflation is significantly higher than previously anticipated.
