Biography:
First elected to represent the Harefield ward in the east of the city in 2000, Royston has since held many positions within Southampton City Council and is the Chairman of on the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority.
Royston’s background is rooted in aeronautical engineering; he spent 10 years in the Royal Air Force flying as ground engineer with the Nimrod maritime reconnaissance fleet before taking up a position with British Airways in 1990.
Having served in the military, worked in the private sector and spent over 12 years as the Councillor for the Harefield Ward, Royston's experience is varied. He is a Trustee of the Blue Lamp Trust, and a Governor of Southampton Solent University. Royston also sits on the Spitfire Tribute Foundation and is a member of the Southampton Port and Airport Consultative Committees.
