Minerals and Waste Plan: Inception and Timetable

To seek approval to commence a review of the Minerals and Waste Plan and the timetable for that review. Once adopted the Plan will form part of the development plan for the city (alongside the Southampton City Vision Local Plan) against which planning applications are determined. The current Minerals and Waste Plan was adopted in 2013 and needs to be reviewed. This will be undertaken in partnership with Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, the New Forest National Park Authority and the South Downs National Park Authority

Consultation process

The decision is to start a review of the plan, the timetable for which is 2021 to adoption in Autumn 2023. Public consultation on a draft plan is anticipated to start in October 2021.
