Acceptance of Additional Government Funding for Targeted Mental Health in Schools Programme

To consider the report of the Head of Young People and Community Support seeking acceptance of additional Government funding for the Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TaMHS) project.  Funding is available to fund new and innovative ways of working in collaboration between Children's Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and the Voluntary Sector to implement evidence-based interventions in schools to improve the emotional health and wellbeing of children aged 5-13.  In Southampton the project will be implemented through building on locality working and training school staff to build confidence, competence and capacity in promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being for children and young people.
