Biography:
Carol Cunio has lived
in Southampton all her life. She grew up in Sholing and has lived in Woolston since marrying and having a family.
She was very involved in the Woolston
& Weston Community Action Forum and for several years ran the
Soup Run in the City Centre. She also initiated and organised for
fourteen years, the Southampton Sunday Lunch Project which offered
a cooked Sunday lunch to those in need.
She has been on the Management Committee of the Southampton Advice
& Represention Centre (SARC) in
Woolston and now that this has become a
Trust is on the Board of Directors.
As a Councillor she is on the Sure Start Management Board at Weston
and is the LEA governor of a local school. She joined the Friends
of Mayfield Park when it was formed and enjoys the clearing
sessions they have to make the park a cleaner and safer place for
local people.
She supports the Saints to the extent of being a Season ticket
holder and very much enjoys walking over the Itchen Bridge with
other supporters to cheer the team on. She supports local theatre,
both the Nuffield and the Mayflower, the Southampton Youth
Orchestra, belongs to the Southampton Jazz Society and is a Trustee
for Communicare and will shortly become
a Trustee for Mayfield Nurseries.
