City View

City View is Southampton City Council's flagship magazine for residents, businesses and visitors. Each issue is packed full of news, information and tells you what's going on in and around the city.
Following feedback that you have given us, we have recently changed the format to the magazine. It is now a 32-page publication, published bi-monthly (6 issues a year) and is focussed on you, the residents and businesses in the city.
We are currently unable to publish an online edition of City View, we are working on a solution to this problem. In the mean time, if you would like a copy of the magazine, we can post you a printed copy. All you need to do is telephone, email or write to us using the details below, giving us you name and full address (including post code), and we will pop a copy in the post to you.
We hope you enjoy this issue of City View and always welcome any comments or suggestions you may have. We would also like to find out what you thought of our improved design and the new-look magazine. City View issue 72, April/May 2010
In this issue:
We interview international R&B star Craig David about growing up in Southampton, his memories of the city, how he got into music and his involvement in the new adiZone, based out in Mansel Park, Millbrook. This is our first exclusive interview in a series called 'I am Southampton', where local people tell us about their experiences of our city.
Southampton City Council is ploughing more money into the road network each year. In this issue we tell you about how we're fixing those pesky potholes, working smarter and in partnership with other agencies and expanding the green transport networks.
"How much can a council shape a city?" is a question that we get asked a lot. So in this issue we answer that question by looking back over the development of our city over the last 150 years. This links into Southampton City Council's 'Core Strategy', a document that outlines how we plan to develop the city to 2026. Over the coming issues we have a series of features planned to showcase how we're developing a 21st Century Southampton for everyone.
Plus... look out for our features on Mother's Day heroines, Eco Joe's column about recycling, the new development on Hinkler Parade and a round-up of Operation Nero.
