***Event Postponed***
It is with deep regret that big bear events have had to postpone the drive in movies that were due to be held in Southampton between may 6th to 8th.
Ticket refunds can be claimed back by contacting the ticket agency for a full refund.
Big Bear Events hope to be bringing the event back to Southampton in the autumn and all people who purchased tickets for this event will be offered greatly discounted tickets for the next one.

Drive In Movies is returning to Southampton City Centre in association with Southampton Daily Echo and Wave 105 and will be held at West Quay Phase 3 site on Western Esplanade between Thursday May 6th and Saturday May 8th. You can drive along in your Cadillac and watch 3 of the best films ever made on a large outdoor screen whilst sat in the comfort of your car.

In the early days of Drive in Movies, a movie's sound was provided by outdoor speakers on the screen and later by an individual speaker hung from the window of each car, which would be attached by a wire. This system was superseded by the more economical and less damage-prone method of broadcasting the soundtrack on FM Radio that can be picked up by a car radio. This method also allows the soundtrack to be picked up in stereo by the audience on a high fidelity stereo that are installed in most cars these days.

“Dirty Dancing” Patrick Swayze's greatest moment on the big screen is one not to miss out on!
Dirty Dancing follows the story of Frances 'Baby' Houseman (Jennifer Grey)and her family as they spend the summer at Kellerman's Family Summer Camp. We get to see her discover herself as she falls in love with the dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). The movie is full of wonderful dancing (hence the title!) some great music, and terrific scenery. It handles some tough issues with dignity and grace, and, of course, has (shocking spoiler here!) a happy, wonderful, feel good ending! You know how it's going to end from the beginning, but that's really not the point here. The point is the journey, a journey that touches every member of the family.

One of Michael Caine's greatest movies ever! "Hang on, lads; I've got a great idea"
Charlies' got a 'Job' to do. Having just left prison he finds one of friends has attempted a high risk job in Italy, right under the nose of the Mafia. Charlies friend doesn't get very far, so Charlie takes over the 'Job'. Using three Mini Coopers, a couple of jaguars and a bus, he hopes to bring Torino to a standstill, steal the Gold and escape, This leads to an excellent car chase sequence through Italian streets, buildings, rivers, sewers. This action adventure features Michael Caine, Nowel Coward, Irene Handl and Benny Hill. The theme tune "Get A Bloomin' Move On" (better known as the Self Preservation Society) has now been used in many adverts. And, yes, it is Michael Caine singing on the version used in the film.
