Bargate Markets
The pedestrianised area by the Bargate Monument is the home to many popular markets.
Friday
The regular Friday markets have over 50 attractive, continental type stalls. Some of the delights on offer include: high quality fruit and veg, a local butcher, bakery and cake stall, Mediterranean olives, European cheeses, old fashioned confectionery, pet food and accessories, Fairtrade items, leather goods, gifts and a wide range of make up.
If you’re feeling hungry there are also various food stalls offering treats such as noodles, hog roast and ever popular baguettes, burgers and hot dogs.
Open 9am till 5pm.

Saturday
Stalls on the regular Saturday markets vary each week depending on the season.
The range of stalls, under attractive continental style canopies, may include produce from independent suppliers, growers and small farmers and original art work and design-led craft, mixed with traditional market sellers. There are also food stalls to fill the gap between breakfast and dinner!
Open 9am to 5pm.
