For 2010, Stephen Payne OBE, Royal Designer of Industry, the Vice President Newbuilding and Chief Naval Architect of Carnival will give the talk on “From the Titanic to the QM2”. Stephen Payne was the lead designer of Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2.

Garry Momber, the Director of the Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology will give a talk on “Wrecks in the Solent”. Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology promotes interest, research and knowledge of maritime archaeology and heritage in Great Britain, with core activities focused in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight and the adjacent South Coast areas.

There will also be a short conducted tour of the Oceanography Centre as part of the Lecture series.
