Upper Shirley High students get behind the camera

USH TV logoStudents from Upper Shirley High were invited by the organisers of the Big Bang Fair to record the event in Birmingham on 15 and 16 March. The crew spent a day and a half filming and another half a day editing before presenting an amazing documentary of the Big Bang Fair in the run up to the prize-giving ceremony on the last day.

They went around the Fair interviewing a number of high profile celebrities, as well as getting a close up shot of Prince Andrew. The students did Southampton proud with their efforts and as a result they have been asked by another school to produce a film of their forthcoming prize-giving event.

The team worked completely independently and finished their report ahead of a tight deadline. The finished film was screened in the main hall towards the end of the event. It received a standing ovation.

You can watch the film at the link below.

The Big Bang Fair is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for young people in the UK and aims to show young people just how many exciting and rewarding opportunities there are out there for them with the right experience and qualifications.
