Enabling people with a disability or health condition to access work opportunities and support
Residents in Southampton who are seeking employment are being invited to attend the Southampton Enable Employment Fair on the 20 February at the Civic Centre building.
Free of charge and open to all, hosted by the Southampton Jobs Fair Partnership, the event aims to support those who are unemployed, particularly people with a disability or health condition and young people who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET).
The Enable Employment Fair is part of a continuing initiative by the Southampton Jobs Fair Partnership to support employers in creating a workforce that reflects and connects with our community, whilst enabling those with a disability, health condition or additional needs to access work opportunities and support.
The partnership is made up of Southampton City Council, Jobcentre Plus, Spectrum Centre for Independent Living, People Plus and the Wheatsheaf Trust. The event is taking place in Conference Rooms 3 and 4, Southampton Civic Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LY on Tuesday 20 February from 11.30am-3pm. There is disabled access on either side of the main reception of the Civic Centre, and lift access to the first floor where the conference rooms are situated. There is a hearing loop available. As well as live job vacancies from a variety of supportive companies, there will also be plenty of training and volunteering opportunities available with local employers from around Southampton.
