We give you a glimpse of the run-up to Christmas and tell you about the festive celebrations planned for the city on page 4, with the return of the German Christmas market, the Victorian street fayre on Bedford Place and, not fogetting, the Southampton City Ice Rink. For this festive issue, we present a two-page Talking Christmas Rubbish feature, giving you some hints and tips to enjoy a less wasteful Christmas and a recycling new year. Please note: The council will be recycling your real-Christmas trees with your normal waste collection, between 12-16 January.
Read the four-page budget special, starting on page 13, and find out about the proposals being made by the Cabinet of Southamptopn City Council for the 2009/10 financial year. We want to hear your views on how the council should allocate the budget, so turn to page 16 and give us your feedback.
