Events and Festivals Grant

We are offering grants to support event organisers to hold events and festivals across the city of Southampton. Grants of between £250 and £5,000 are available to support up to 50% of the costs of events and festivals that are accessible to the general public.

In 2020 our main themes are the Mayflower 400 anniversary and celebrating the city's heritage, though we accept applications for other events too. We also expect to split the funding evenly between events and festivals in Guildhall Square/Cultural Quarter and the rest of the city.

Who can apply?

Non-profit organisations such as voluntary and community groups, social enterprises, faith organisations, schools, PTAs and ‘Friends of’ groups. For-profit businesses or sole traders (applications will be considered on a case by case basis).

Priority will be given to residents and organisations / businesses based in the City of Southampton.

Please see our application guidelines for more information about what the Events and Festivals Grant can and can't fund.

Closing date

If your event/festival is in April or May 2020, you must apply by Thursday 13 February 2020 - please see the application guidelines for more details.

For all other applications you can apply anytime between now and Friday 30 October 2020, at midday. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
