Some junk mail is sent just to get your name and address, this is valuable information and lists of people who reply to junk mail are bought and sold around the world. So if you reply to one letter you will get loads more.
You can stop most junk mail and phone calls by registering with the Mail Preference Service and Telephone Preference Service. This is free, you can register on-line and can also register your older relatives.
