There is no charge for registering a birth. However, you may want a full birth certificate, which shows the parents' names. Many organisations now ask for this type of birth certificate, including the UK Passport Agency.

There is no charge for registering a birth. However, you may want a full birth certificate, which shows the parents' names. Many organisations now ask for this type of birth certificate, including the UK Passport Agency. There is a charge of £3.50 per certificate at the time of registration.
We can also laminate certificates for you at a small extra charge. Many parents like to have a laminated birth certificate as a permanent keepsake of their baby's birth or as a gift for the baby's grandparents. Please note - laminated certificates may not be acceptable for official purposes.
