I decided to go to the UK because I was studying British culture and literature and I found it fascinating. I came to Southampton because my friend was staying here already.
I love Southampton for its diversity. I love meeting new people from different cultures and faiths, it is a real eye opener. Back in Poland I didn't have any opportunity to meet Muslims, Hindus or people from other ethnic backgrounds. Southampton and the UK gives me that opportunity, and I'm so grateful for that. It gives me a chance to explore different faiths and cultures, making me spiritually richer and more tolerant.
Southampton has got great parks where you can go for a walk or just enjoy the sun (when it shines) sitting on the grass. There are also nice places to go out in the evening. I love old pubs and inns which have a real 'soul'. I also enjoy going to restaurants, particularly choosing cuisine I have never tried before. I already had some brilliant sushi, delicious curry and tasty 'calzone' pizza. I enjoy this diversity in cuisine very much.
I enjoy going for walks in the New Forest or having a pint of shandy in one of the old inns. I love cinema so if I get the chance I go to see the new releases. When I have some free time, I read sometimes as well. I am just about to finish 'The Life of Pi' which I got from a very important person. And since summer is just around the corner, I will probably be visiting the gym and swimming pool in due time.
