Bidding and Project Guidance
Readiness Assessment Tool
The London Development Agency (LDA) and the Government Office for London (GOL) have jointly commissioned practical toolkit, the “Readiness Assessment Tool” (see other useful websites on right hand side). It is intended as an aid to project management to help to identify weak areas that either need to be tackled now or as part of a long term plan. Help with funding and project guidance documents are also on the right hand side, under 'Related Documents'.
NCVO
The National Council for Voluntary Organisations 'Sustainable Funding Project' encourages and enables voluntary and community organisations to adopt a 'rounded' approach to sustainable funding through:
An understanding of the role planning and management play in sustainability
Income diversification – exploring a sustainable and diverse mix of income sources including donations, grants and earned income
Considering generating income through contractual work and trading goods and services
An awareness of the use of loans and other forms of finance as a catalyst to develop your organisation
The NVCO have produced an excellent set of six advisory guides designed for small and medium-sized voluntary and community organisations. The Introductory Pack on Funding and Finance consists of six guides covering Sustainable Funding, Financial Management, Fundraising, Trading, Procurement and Contracting, and Loan finance, including case studies, tools, and signposts to resources to assist organisations in their search for long-term financial sustainability. Please click the links on the related documents to the right to download each pack, or for more information visit the NVCO website in the useful links column.
