Neighbourhood agenda

What work is being done?

Work to build on the neighbourhood agenda is being looked in two separate, but related, areas. These are:-

Neighbourhood Management.
This is looking at how services can be organised better on a neighbourhood basis to provide better, quicker services and value for money.

Community Hubs.
This is looking at developing community facilities and buildings where several local services are based.

It is vital that people and organisations in communities have the chance to be involved. The council has set out a plan to communicate with residents, local businesses, agencies, other services. The plan aims to ensure people are kept informed, are able to voice their goals and views and have their say in the outcomes. It includes:-

• Public consultation and discussion

• Liaison with the Southampton Partnership and other agencies

• Liaison with businesses

• Liaison with other local authorities

• Site visits

• A survey of residents’ views
