Step 1

Complete the pre-application advice form and attach any relevant supporting documents.

Step 2

Once the completed form has been received you will receive an acknowledgement letter confirming your application reference number and the name of your allocated Case Officer.

Step 3

If a meeting is required, we will contact you to arrange this.

Step 4

A pre-application advice meeting will take place, if required, with your allocated Case Officer, usually within 15 workings days of receiving a valid pre-application advice request.

Step 5

Within 15 working days (of either a valid request or a meeting) we will write to you confirming the advice we gave you at the meeting, or with advice on your proposal.

Step 6

If you require further substantial advice or meetings, a further fee is likely to be required.

Step 7

Submit your formal planning application. It will be helpful if you notify us of the planning officer who dealt with your pre-application advice.

Please note that at times of high workloads, these timescales may be increased. However, we will always endeavour to contact you to agree on an appropriate response time.
