The Itchen Bridge is a toll bridge over the River Itchen in Southampton, Hampshire.
First opened in 1977, the Itchen Bridge requires a variable toll, based on the height of your vehicle at the front axle, in order to cross.
The toll booth is situated at the Woolston end of the bridge and is operational every day of the week.

Itchen Bridge invoices and payments
You are now able to pay Itchen Bridge invoices online using the eStore. Your card must be registered for 3D Secure for the payment to be successful.

In the event of a deferred payment please ring the Itchen Bridge office on 023 8043 1040 and have your registration number available to identify the payment.
Crossing the Itchen toll Bridge
Please note that there are now exit barriers installed on the toll booth. Please ensure they are fully raised before passing through the toll. If you have any problems, please press the help button on the payment machine.

Residents and non-residents of Southampton can apply online for a SmartCities card which will allow you to make prepayments for the Itchen Bridge toll.
If you have a blue badge and one of the other qualifying documents named in the application form, you will be entitled to free travel across the Itchen Toll Bridge with a SmartCities card. Please see section 8 of the application form for the documents required and where to apply.
