Connected Southampton - Transport Strategy 2040 (draft LTP4 strategy)

Connected Southampton - Transport Strategy 2040 is the name for a new draft transport strategy for the city. This draft strategy sets out a long term vision for how the Council and its partners will improve the transport network over the next twenty years.

The strategy forms part of the fourth Local Transport Plan for the city and proposes to deliver around 75 different transport projects that will contribute towards making Southampton a more successful, healthy, modern, sustainable and inclusive city. This will support the transformation of the city, setting out what transport success will look like for all different types of travel in 2040.

The draft strategy was subject to a period of public consultation between 25 July and 16 October 2018.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond with their views on the draft strategy. We are now analysing the comments and feedback we received during the public consultation period. Once this has been completed, we will revise and update the draft strategy to take the views expressed into account. We will publish a summary of comments and the Council’s response to the points raised. We expect to seek approval to adopt the revised strategy during the spring of 2019.
