      <description>The residents of Castle House may at last feel like they are the latest kings of their castle. Over the past 18 months residents have been intimately involved and consulted in transforming their homes in partnership with their landlord, Southampton City Council.

      <title>Millbrook residents ask for more parking spaces - you got it</title>

      <description>Southampton City Council is creating 500 extra car parking spaces in Millbrook - after residents said parking in the area has become a problem.
 
The 1950's housing estates in the Millbrook area were not built to accommodate today's level of vehicles on the road. With more cars on the roads then ever before, parking in the area has become difficult for residents.
 
In response to the wishes of local people, the council is set to create 500 new parking spaces in the local area.

      <title>Streetlighting launch in Southampton</title>

      <description>A massive project to replace more than half the street lights in Southampton has been launched.

The &#163;28.5 million scheme will see the current orange lights in the city replaced with more energy efficient white lights.

Southampton City Council, Hampshire County Council and West Sussex County Council  have signed up to a 25 year PFI contract with Tay Valley Lighting to replace 16,500 of the city's 28,000 lights in Southampton. The remaining columns, signs and bollards will be maintained.

The residents of Holyrood are taking pride in their community and giving their children the chance for more play with a refurbished multi-use games area.
