Water metering in Southampton

Between November 2010 and 2015, Southern Water are installing water meters across the city. This work is part of a national drive to protect water resources in areas identified as being “water stressed” where the supplies are less able to meet demand.

This project is a Southern Water initiative. We support initiatives that improve the sustainability of the city and the council will work closely with the water company to ensure minimum disruption to our residents and services.

Water is a key valuable resource and metering will help protect supplies and the environment. The project is supported by the Environment Agency and the Energy Savings Trust.

If you have any questions about the project please visit the Southern Water website through the link below or direct queries to Southern water directly by telephone 0845 270 0845
