Laxton Close site is located in the Botany Bay area in the south east of Southampton and is in the Sholing ward. Laxton Close comprised of 5 blocks of flats including the parking area, drying area, garages and some amenity space.

Background

  • Following a tendering process, Lovell Partnership Limited in partnership with First Wessex appointed the Preferred Developer.

  • Planning permission granted on 22 November 2011 for 63 homes:-

3 x 1 bed flats
18 x 2 bed flats
14 x 3 bed houses

Affordable Rent Homes (19)
1 x 1 bed flats
2 x 2 bed flats
15 x 3 bed houses
1 x 4 bed house

Shared Ownership (9)
2 x 1 bed flats
7 x 2 bed flats

  • Temporary Stopping Up Orders granted June 2012

  • Site hoarded June 2012

  • Stopping Up Order published 7 January 2013

  • Made Stopping Up Order published 26 February 2013

  • Demolition commenced January 2013

  • Work commenced February 2013

What happens next?

The developer is on site and work is progressing as per the programme (subject to change):

  • construct road and parking - May 2013
  • construct plots 1-8 - June 2013
  • completion - October / November 2014
